Live where you want to live, but invest where the numbers make sense!

This is one of my favorite quotes by Robert Helms (above) of the Real Estate Guys™.

It’s also one that both Jana and I have learned to live by. That being said, it's also kind of nice to have a combination of both in the mix. We arrived last Monday in Ambergris Caye, Belize and I am writing this from our townhouse located in Mahogany Bay Resort and Beach Club Cuiro, Collection by Hilton.

Jana and I are not real estate speculators but when we saw this opportunity in 2014, we pounced on it. Back in the early 2000’s, we took three separate scuba diving vacations down to the Bay Islands in Honduras. While on the Summit at Sea in 2012, we stopped in at the cruise ship terminal in Roatan which is the largest and most popular of the three islands. Keep in mind, there was no cruise ship terminals in the early 2000's and now there is two. While there, we ended up talking to a couple of investors from Houston Texas who had just purchased two homes on the island. We were blown away at what they paid for those properties and how much real estate prices had skyrocketed since we were last there!

Waterfront property in Belize is still one of the most undervalued in the Caribbean and Ambergris Caye, like Roatan Honduras, is located several miles off of the mainland. It is truly paradise here with tons of things to do and lots of great places to eat.

This is our first time back here since the pandemic and it's wonderful to see the vibrancy of this place and the speed at which things are recovering.

Of course, if you know my wife and I, we like to mix business with pleasure so we're also here to participate in this year's Investor Summit™, hosted by Robert Helms and Russell Gray of the Real Estate Guys™. All kinds of amazing people are here including faculty members like Robert and Kim Kiyosaki, Ken McElroy, G. Edward Griffin, Doug Duncan, and many more.
